I went to the gastroenterologist last week, a new one, since I moved to this new town. I haven’t been in two years ;) mostly because I don’t trust doctors and find it annoying to pay so much money to see someone that is just going to push pills at me.
She was cool. But she said that I have to be scoped to make sure I don’t have any weird polyps or whatever (cancer screening). That will be in a month. I am waiting until I am done with work and vacation.
I think this is the final test. Has two years of transitioning from SAD to mostly raw gluten-free vegan worked to heal my digestive system? Let’s hope so.
So I love food and I have struggled for years to eat healthier and continually improve. My recent transition from gluten-free vegan to gluten-free vegan mostly raw has shown me a few things.
#1 Cooked food slows me down. Just don’t feel as alert, maybe it’s cause it’s cooked, maybe it’s cause my digestive system is jacked up cause of Crohn’s. Idk. Either way it’s annoying to eat something in order to gain energy and then feel tired after eating.
#2 Now I don’t crave normal junk food as a splurge. I eat raw all day (before dinner) and when I want to “cheat” it’s for sauteed veggies or rice or beans. I don’t crave crap food anymore.
#3 I’ve lost ten pounds and I’m not even working out.*
#4 My skin cleared up and it doesn’t even turn red anymore (like red under lying flaming hot inflammation evil).
*not working out because eating raw is so low in calories that I would have to eat way too much to fuel my body to work full time and work out.
